A Day in Everglades National Park

A bucket list of mine is getting to visit all the national parks in the US. Today I got to visit the Everglades with Ryan. It was a wonderfully busy day!

The first alligator we came across on our alligator packed day.

We made a 2 1/2 hour drive down to the southern part of Florida to visit the Everglades. We stopped at all the visitor centers we came across,, most of which had boardwalks over the river we could walk down and see some alligators.

It was a sweltering 90 degree day, which meant that we seen many alligators sun bathing.

A big guy!

We drove to Shark Valley, where we walked down a bike trail along a river and seen some gators. We did not go all the way to the observation deck, but we did get a selfie with this guy:

Alligator swimming in the background.

We took an airboat ride and a buggy ride, and we watched an alligator handler stick his hands and face in a giant alligators mouth. 🙊

We ended the day at Marco island, where we stopped for wood fired pizza at DaVinci’s, which was the absolute best!

Tomato and garlic pizza with a side of cheese raviolis 🤤
