Camping in the Smokies

Today’s blog post is brought to you all the way from Cosby, Tennessee, where we are sleeping on an air mattress, in a tent, in the mountains. Everywhere you go you see warning signs that you are in bear country. I had to sign a waiver saying that I understood that we are tenting inContinue reading “Camping in the Smokies”

Diners, Drive Ins & Dives – St. Louis

For Memorial Day weekend, we visited St. Louis, Missouri to see the Gateway Arch and explore the city. We also were able to hit up 4 Triple D restaurants! For those that don’t know what Triple D is, it’s a show on Food Network Called Diners, Drive Ins and Dives. It’s ran by Guy Fieri,Continue reading “Diners, Drive Ins & Dives – St. Louis”

Gateway Arch National Park

Ryan and I checked another National park off of our list this weekend when we traveled to St. Louis, Missouri to visit the Gateway Arch! We took a tram up into the arch. The elevator was soooo tiny. It had 5 seats, and Ryan couldn’t even sit up straight. When we got to the topContinue reading “Gateway Arch National Park”

Out West Adventures

Another throwback blog post! Here’s a photo dump of our latest out west vacation! We stopped at badlands national Park, Yellowstone national park, and the Teton mountains. Smoky Mountains Trip!

Since nothing exciting is going on in my life currently, here’s a few photos of a trip I took to Gatlinburg at this time last year with Billy and John! And the pups of course! I think it’s only right that my first photo is one of my brother dying on a 10 mile roundContinue reading “Smoky Mountains Trip!”

Our Triple D Adventures

About a year ago I got really into watching Diners Drive Ins and Dives on the Food Network. If you don’t know what this is, it’s a show by Guy Fieri, where he visits small local restaurants that are supposed to be a huge hit with the locals. These restaurants are all either diners, driveContinue reading “Our Triple D Adventures”

360 CHICAGO

On our last visit to Chicago we got to try out the tilt ride in the John Hancock building on the 94th floor at 360 CHICAGO. We stayed at the 21C Museum Hotel, so it came with it for free! We also got a super discounted parking rate for staying there, AND we got intoContinue reading “360 CHICAGO”

Indiana Dunes National Park

This weekend we checked out Indiana Dunes National Park. It was just established into a National Park in 2019. This was a fun day trip, seeing the beautiful Lake Michigan and doing a couple hiking trails! This place was a good mix of dunes/beach and woodsy hikes. The water was beautiful and I even foundContinue reading “Indiana Dunes National Park”

Good Eats – Chicago

The Bella Luna Cafe. This was a small restaurant/bar that served Italian dishes and Chicago’s famous, deep dish pizza. We got the sausage and cheese deep dish, and the homemade meat stuffed raviolis. This was super yummy! The raviolis were al dente – my favorite – and the sauce was amazing! The sausage on ourContinue reading “Good Eats – Chicago”
